Mustang Analytics
Mustang Analytics
Role: UX/UI design, wireframes, brand development, marketing collateral
Duration: 2 months
Overview
I was tasked to develop the brand identity and marketing collateral for a start up company, Mustang Analytics LLC. The company already had a logo which I then utilized as a basis for their color scheme and brand development. I first designed business cards, then a company resume, and finally a website. In addition to the Mustang Analytics brand development, I was also hired to work on Animal Models, a project for their sport analytics application. Animal Models required separate branding as well as a separate website. The website is still being developed, but I have designed high fidelity wireframes and live prototype.
Company Logo
As previously mentioned, Mustang Analytics employed my services after they already had a logo in place. I was tasked to incorporate their logo and color scheme into further brand development and marketing collateral. The logo (above left) is the original Mustang Analytics logo. I then created several variations for the website, business cards, and company resume.
Mood Board
I played with variations of the monochromatic blue color scheme on my mood board.
Business Cards
I designed three variations of business cards and in each design I kept the logo as well as adding a new design element of line graph symbols using the same colors in the logo. I chose line graphs to represent Mustang Analytics as a data driven analytics company with a modern aesthetic. I provided my clients with several different options to choose from. The first variation is a vertical business card, the second is a horizontal card with the logo on the front and the line graphs on the back, and the third variation is another horizontal business card, but with both the graphs and logo on the front.
Company Resume
I kept the company resume very simple with clean lines. It highlights the company’s mission statement, a list of clients and corresponding projects, contact information, and company logo.
Website
For the website I used a Wordpress template called Business Point. Mustang Analytics is a startup company and did not have a budget to include a website developer so I utilized a low cost Wordpress template to create a clean and effective website. I customized the colors, images, and fonts to match Mustang Analytic’s brand. I also added several plugins to enhance the user experience and design. With my client’s budget limitations, I felt that a Wordpress template was an ideal solution to create a quality on brand website.
Animal Models
In addition to the Mustang Analytics brand development, I was also hired to work on Animal Models, a sport analytics application that was a different part of their business. Animal Models required separate branding as well as a separate website. The website is still being developed, but I have designed high fidelity wireframes and a live prototype.
Color Scheme
The Animal Models color scheme is different from Mustang Analytics, but a similar masculine and monochromatic aesthetic. I chose shades of green and black. This way the company would not have to worry about appearing bias towards any sports teams.
Logo
I designed the logo to look like the Mustang Analytics logo, but the letters are reversed. This way the customers are aware that Animal Models is connected to Mustang Analytics but is still a separate entity.
High fidelity wire frames
For the wireframes, I wanted to create something that appealed to Animal Model’s audience. The audience for sports analytics includes sports fans as well as data enthusiasts and technical users. The first wireframe is the homepage which previews the sites free sports prediction of the day—which can be adjusted to include baseball, football, basketball, soccer, or hockey. The second wireframe is the premium prediction page. This is for paid subscriptions only and includes a daily list of predictions from all different sports categories and players. The last wireframe is the free predictions page which includes the free prediction of the day with the full data set.
